About

This is the blog for Kirschner Vision Group. We are an optometric practice with 2 locations in the South Suburbs of Chicago.  Please feel free to visit out blog for news about upcoming events in our practice, specifically our move this year from Oak Forest to Orland Park.  This year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of our business in the South Suburbs as well.

Kirschner Vision Group has been a family oriented practice since its inception in 1950. Dr. Harold Kirschner started his practice in downtown Chicago in 1952 where his name and reputation as an exceptional Optometrist grew. The practice moved to Canterbury Shopping Center in Markham in 1960. As the practice grew in size and stature, and in anticipation of his sons joining the practice, a second location in Oak Forest was opened in 1972. Dr. Paul Kirschner joined the practice in 1977, followed by Dr. Kenneth Kirschner in 1982. In order to better service our patients, the Markham office relocated to Hazel Crest in 1982 and more recently further enlarged and expanded our ability to serve by moving to our new Optometric building in downtown Homewood. The Oak Forest office also relocated to a larger, more modern space in 2000. The professional staff has continued to grow with the addition of Dr. Lisa Wilson in 2005, and Dr. Genine Graff in 2009.
